Criticizing the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for selling government land in Telangana, Union Minister and BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy on Monday alleged that selling plots and borrowing shows the government’s bankruptcy. Reddy alleged that the BRS government’s attitude towards government land was irresponsible and abuse of power. He said that getting votes in the upcoming elections and selling government lands for their political needs is a completely anti-people act.

He said that during the last nine years of BRS rule, funds were not being given to gram panchayats for their maintenance.

He claimed that when Telangana was formed in 2014, it was a surplus state and now it has been turned into a bankrupt state. Reddy said that the state government has taken a loan of about Rs.6 lakh crore. The minister said that the state government does not have land to accommodate the poor and the state government did the right thing when the center asked for allocation of land and funds for setting up a tribal museum and Sangeet Natak Akademi in Hyderabad. gave

He said that selling public land by the government is misuse of powers. He also found fault with the allotment of land to BRS party and Congress party for building offices in Hyderabad. “There is collusion between these two parties. 10 acres for Congress and 11 acres for BRS. Both parties distributed government land worth hundreds of crores of rupees in the name of party offices,” he alleged. He also said that when BJP comes to power in Telangana, it will cancel the land allotment of BRS and Congress.
