New Delhi: On the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Meanwhile, PM Modi spoke to the countrymen on many topics and issues. The PM also expressed concern over the violence in many parts of the country, including Manipur. He also expressed concern about floods in several states. He said that the central and state governments will work together to establish peace and advance development work across the country.

The PM said that the violence in some parts of the North-East, especially in Manipur, is very worrying. The crime against women and girls here has put the country to shame. But since few days peace has returned there. PM Modi said that the state government and the Center there are restoring peace and soon the old situation will be restored. He said that today the entire country stands shoulder to shoulder with Manipur and its people.

This time the natural calamity caused unimaginable trouble in many parts of the country. My condolences to all the families who have endured this crisis. I assure that the state central government together will move towards rapid development free from all these crises.
The Prime Minister said that there are moments in history which leave an indelible impression. Their influence lasts for centuries and sometimes they seem very small in the beginning but later become the root of many problems. We remember that this country was invaded 1,000-1200 years ago. A small king in a small state was defeated. But then it was not even known that one incident would trap India in slavery for a thousand years and we continued to be trapped in slavery. PM Modi said that today the youth has made India one of the top three startup ecosystems in the world. He said that there is no shortage of opportunities in the country, as many opportunities as needed will be provided. You try, government will provide you opportunities.
