President of the country approved 76 bravery awards.
New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu has sanctioned 76 bravery awards on the occasion of 77th Independence Day. These awards include four Kirti Chakras (posthumous), 11 Shaurya Chakras including five posthumous, two Sena Medals (Galour), 52 Sena Medals (Galour), 3 Navy Medals (Galour) and four Vayu Sena Medals. Army Dog Madhav (posthumously) and an Air Force officer have been awarded this gallantry medal for their contribution in various military operations.

Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra are the second and third highest peacetime gallantry awards in India after the Ashok Chakra. Many brave soldiers were honored
Dilip Kumar Das, Rajkumar Yadav, Bablu Rabha and Sambha Roy are among the posthumous recipients of the Kirti Chakra award, the statement said. All of them were Central Reserve Police Force personnel. Among the five personnel who received Shaurya Chakra are Army Aviation Squadron Major Vikas Bhambhu and Major Mustafa Bohra. Havildar Vivek Singh Tomar of Rajputana Rifles and Rifleman Kulbhushan Manta of Rashtriya Rifles have also been honored with this award.
