Are you booking tickets through a fake app? IRCTC has issued a warning for such users.

IRCTC Warning: Are you preparing to book tickets by downloading the app of IRCTC, the online ticket booking company of Indian Railways? Have you downloaded fake IRCTC app to book tickets? The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has asked the general public to beware of this fake and bogus app.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) said that a fake app called IRCTC Rail Connect is circulating through a fraudulent application and asking the general public to use it. IRCTC has warned the general public against this message and advised them not to fall prey to it.

According to IRCTC, in this dubious mobile app campaign, fraudsters are sending massive phishing links. Through this link, these fraudsters force people to download the fake IRCTC Rail Connect mobile app. Their aim is to lure people into wrongdoing.

While issuing an official advisory in this regard, IRCTC has termed the app as fake and said that the user may suffer huge losses by using it. IRCTC has asked to download the Rail Connect app only from Google Play or Apple App Store.

On several occasions before, IRCTC has advised Android users to download IRCTC’s RailConnect mobile app from the Google Play Store and iOS users to download it only from the Apple App Store. It is suggested to contact IRCTC customer care only through the official number given on IRCTC website https://irctc.co.in.
