Suspicious death of student at Jadavpur University in West Bengal

Kolkata Police have arrested six more people in connection with the investigation into the death of an 18-year-old student of Jadavpur University (JU) in West Bengal. A senior police officer said on Wednesday that a total of nine people have been arrested in the case so far. He said the university’s dean of students and registrar were asked to meet the joint CP (crime) at the Kolkata police headquarters in Lal Bazar on Wednesday.

The Governor and University Chancellor Dr CV Anand Bose will hold a meeting at around 5 pm on Wednesday to discuss the current situation of the university after the death of the student. The police have taken notice of some social media posts of the JU student, including photographs, which indicate that there was an element of sexual harassment involved in the ragging of the student. Six people, including three former students of the university, were arrested in the operation launched by the Kolkata police on Tuesday night, the official said.

The accused escaped after the incident.
A police officer said, “During the investigation, they gave nonsensical answers to the officials, after which we arrested them last night. They seem to be involved in the student’s death. We will take them to court later.” I will present.” Earlier, police arrested three students of Jadavpur University for their alleged involvement in the ragging of an 18-year-old undergraduate student. Of the six students arrested by the police, two are third-year civil engineering students and one is pursuing electrical engineering, the official said. He said that all the six arrested students were staying in the hostel and had allegedly escaped from there after the incident.

Student dies after falling from hostel
