GoFirst’s woes escalated, with more than 150 employees resigning within two weeks.

Go to Crisis First: Financially troubled airline GoFirst’s woes are not abating. On the one hand, the company has been trying to operate its own flights for a long time. On the other hand he faces another problem. More than 150 GoFirst employees have resigned in the past two weeks due to prolonged non-payment of salaries. According to the report published in Money Control, the employees of the company have not received salary for the last 3 months. In this case, they are now looking for jobs in other companies.

Didn’t get paid?

According to a Money Control report, company employees say that GoFirst has yet to pay employees their salaries for May, June and July, despite promises of bonuses and salaries. Since then, 150 employees, including 30 pilots, 50 cabin crew members and 50 ground handling staff, have submitted their resignations to the company in the last two weeks.

After the decision of the Supreme Court, the employees took this step.

It is noteworthy that while talking to Money Control on this matter, a senior executive of the company said that since the Supreme Court’s verdict on August 7, there is frustration among the company’s employees. It is to be noted that the Supreme Court had refused to entertain the decision in which the flight supplier has been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the aircraft. Earlier, GoFirst CEO Kaushik Khona had said that the company will pay salaries to all employees by August 10, 2023. In such a case, if the employees do not get the money till then, there may be news of more resignations in the company in the near future.

All flights canceled till August 18

The go-first crisis that began on May 3 is far from over. The company on Wednesday once again informed that it has canceled all its flights till August 18, 2023. And on July 1, 2023, the DGCA gave permission to GoFirst to fly with conditions. DGCA gave this permission only after availability of interim funds and approval of flight schedule.
