Janu Shuddhi Kendra at Railway Station: With the changing times, Indian Railways is trying to provide maximum facilities to its passengers. If a passenger falls ill at a railway station, he has to face a lot of trouble. In such a situation, the Ministry of Railways has decided to open Pradhan Mantri Jan Bharatiya Ushadhi Kendra (PMBJKs) at stations so that passengers can easily get affordable medicines while travelling. Through this, crores of railway passengers will get cheap medicines at the railway station itself in case of emergency.
What is Jin Oshadhi Kendra?
The Modi government at the Center launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Oshadhi Yojana on 24 April 2018. Through this scheme, medicines are made available to the common people at cheap rates. These are medical stores where generic medicines are available at 70 to 80 percent less than the market price.
This benefit will be available from the Jan Oshadhi Kendra at the railway station.
Many times passengers get sick during train journey or they forget their medicine at home. In such an emergency, they will be able to buy medicines at cheap prices from the Jan Oshadhi Kendra located at the railway station itself. It will also create new employment opportunities along with benefits to commuters. People have to get a license to run the Pradhan Mantri Jan Oshadhi Kendra at the railway station. An e-auction will be organized for this to allow people to run the center at the station. The e-auction process of these centers has been designed by NID Ahmedabad.

Railways has decided to start this facility as a pilot project at a total of 50 railway stations in the country. These stations are Secunderabad, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Virangana Lakshmi Bai, Lucknow Junction, Gorakhpur Junction, Banaras, Agra Cantt, Mathura, Yognagari Rishikesh, Kashipur, Malda Town, Kharagpur, Madan Mahal, Bina, Lokmanya Tilak Manas, New York, Tirmidhi Tinsukia, Limding, Rangia, Darbhanga, Patna, Katihar, Janjgir-Naila, Bugbehra, Anand Vihar, Ankleshwar, Mahesana Junction, Pimpri, Solapur, Nainpur, Nagbhid, Malad, Kharda Road, Phagwara, Rajpura, Sawai Ki Madhopur. , these stores will be opened at Tirupati, Sini Junction, Srinagar, SMVT Bengaluru, Bangarapet, Mysore, Hubli Junction, Palakkad, Pendra Road, Ratlam, Tiruchirappalli Junction, Erode and Dindigul Junction.
