Indian Railway Projects: The central government is working hard for the development of railways. The government is working on many projects to revive the railways. Also, the Cabinet has approved seven railway projects, under which Rs 32,500 crore will be spent.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vishnu said that the Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved seven multi-tracking projects. The project will be developed on engineering, procurement and construction mode. The project will add 2,339 km to the existing rail network.

The project will cover 35 districts.

These projects will get 100 percent funding from the central government. It will cover 35 districts of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Ashwini Vishnu said that after approval from the cabinet, the project will be fast-tracked and completed as soon as possible.

How many people will get employment under the project?

These projects will increase freight traffic by 200 million tonnes annually to ease operations and reduce congestion. Ashwini Vishnu said that each project depends on other projects and should not be viewed independently. People of selected states will also get employment under this project. According to an estimate, 7.06 crore days of employment will be provided under these projects.

Importantly, the Railways is doing a number of things to facilitate passengers and reduce congestion. At the same time, the stations are being renovated to modernize them. While high speed trains like Vande Bharat Express are being run.
