The weather in Colombo will improve!
The Asian Cricket Council has decided to hold the Super Four matches and the final of the Asia Cup in Colombo on Tuesday. Because the weather in Sri Lanka’s capital is showing signs of improvement in the coming days. After heavy rains in Colombo for the past few days, there were speculations that the Super Four matches and the final of the Asia Cup might be shifted to Hambantota. According to information received by PTI, ACC has now decided to hold the matches in Colombo after consultation with Sri Lanka Cricket, Pakistan Cricket Board and official broadcasters.
Why did the broadcasters disagree?
Broadcasters have also cited the difficulty of moving their equipment and staff to Hambantota in such a short time. The SLC had named Hambantota as an alternate venue for five matches and the final of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup. Because there has been drought for the past few weeks. The Sri Lanka leg of the Super Four will begin on September 10 with a match between Pakistan and India at the R Premadasa Stadium. This will be the second time that India will face Pakistan in the Asia Cup. The league match between the two teams was lost due to rain in which India scored 266 runs for the loss of all wickets with the help of half-centuries from Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya.
