Chandigarh: Punjab Police arrested a person who was smuggling drugs from Pakistan through the river. According to reports, this drug smuggler named Malik Singh had sent 3 swimmers to collect 50 kg of heroin from Pakistan. Giving information about this, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said, ‘Police teams have seized 9 kg of heroin from the possession of Malik Singh, which is part of a shipment of 50 kg of heroin.’ He said that 22.5 kg of drugs have already been seized.
Several drug traffickers were arrested recently.
Let me tell you that just a few days ago Jalandhar rural police arrested the drug smuggler Joga Singh. Joga Singh swam to the Pakistan border to bring a consignment of heroin. Earlier, Amritsar police arrested drug smuggler Shindar Singh after recovering 10 kg of heroin and Rs 1.5 lakh earned by selling drugs. A female drug trafficker Amandeep Kaur alias ‘Deep Bhai’ associated with this module was also arrested with 1 kg of heroin, while another drug trafficker Shandarpal was arrested with 500 grams of heroin from Mehtpur.
‘The property was in contact with Pakistani drug smugglers’
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that based on forward and backward links in the case, Jalandhar rural police arrested Malik Singh, a resident of Tandiwala village in Ferozepur and recovered heroin from his shoulder bag. SSP Jalandhar (rural) Mukhwinder Singh Bhalar said Malik revealed that he was in constant touch with Pakistani drug smuggler Haider Ali. “Malkit Singh said that he had sent three swimmers, including Joga Singh, to Pakistan by river to bring a consignment of 50 kg of heroin.”
