2000 rupee note: If you go to put Rs 2000 note in your petrol car on September 30, 2023, which is the last day to collect or exchange Rs 2000 notes, you will be disappointed. Petrol pump dealers in capital Delhi will not accept Rs 2000 notes after September 29, 2023.
The Delhi Petrol Dealers Association has issued a statement saying that the RBI has set a cut-off date of September 30, 2023 for banks to collect or exchange Rs 2,000 notes. As per RBI guidelines, petrol pumps in Delhi will not accept Rs 2,000 notes after September 29, 2023, the dealers association said.
The Delhi Petrol Dealers Association has asked the common citizens to cooperate in implementing the RBI notification. Let us tell you that there are only three days left to deposit or exchange Rs.2000 notes in your account. Still Rs 24,000 crore worth of Rs 2,000 notes lying with the common man are yet to be returned to the banking system. Actually on 19th May 2023 Reserve Bank of India announced to withdraw Rs 2000 notes. According to RBI (Reserve Bank of India), as on March 31, 2023, Rs 3.62 lakh crore worth of 2000 notes were in circulation, which declined to Rs 3.56 lakh crore on May 19, 2023.
Petrol pump dealers in Delhi will not accept 2000 notes. But let us tell you that even after 30 September 2023, the status of Rs 2000 note will remain legal. However, RBI may issue guidelines for those who will not be able to deposit or exchange notes by September 30. Experts believe that the RBI may issue some guidelines on September 30 to provide relief to such people.
