Imphal: Efforts to curb the spread of property damage videos have begun in Manipur. In an order, the government has said that strict measures will now be taken to prevent the spread of videos related to violence and damage to property in the state and action will be taken as per law. The order was issued on Wednesday night after videos and pictures of violence in Manipur went viral on social media.

The law and order situation may deteriorate.

A similar video shows a group of people shooting two youths at close range and burying them in a pit. However, the video does not contain any information about the crash site and the burial site. An order issued by the Manipur Home Department said, “The state government is taking very seriously videos of violent activities, in which someone is injured, damage to private and public property is various. The order also said that “after a thorough investigation of the matter, the state government has taken steps to normalize the situation and decided to stop the circulation of such videos,” the order said. A case has been registered against those who violated the order

The order said that the violators of the order will be prosecuted under the provisions of law and misuse of technology. Action will be taken against them under Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act. Caste violence has been going on since May 3 this year between Meiti and Kuki tribes in Manipur. The violence started when the Mayite people demanded to be given tribal status.
