The market will boom during the festive season, a turnover of Rs 3 lakh crore is expected.

Festive Season Sale: The festive season has begun. Navratri is underway and next month in November are the holy festivals of Diwali, Dhanteras and Chhath. And traders believe that this festive season is expected to see a huge business across the country. According to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), based on the activity seen in the markets, trade is expected to be around Rs 3 lakh crore across the country. Last year 2022 saw a turnover of around Rs 2.5 lakh crore.

CAT national general secretary Praveen Khandelwal said the festive season, which began with Raksha Bandhan, will continue till Tulsi Vivah on November 23. It is the season of festivals including Navratri, Ram Leela, Dussehra, Durga Puja, Karva Chauth, Dhan Thiras, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Bhai Doj, Chhath Puja and Tulsi Viva and during this season, according to the demand of customers, traders Preparations have been made to supply the goods on a large scale across the country. He said that during this festive season, the business of the country is estimated to be around Rs 3 lakh crore. India has around 60 crore consumers for retail sales in markets and if we spend an average of Rs 5000 per person during the festive season, this number comes to Rs 3 lakh crore, which can be easily achieved.

According to CAT, the country is now completely out of the Covid crisis. People want to celebrate the festive season with celebration and prosperity. Such cases include household items, appliances, gifts, clothing, jewellery, imitation jewellery, utensils, decorative items, furniture and fixtures, kitchenware, consumer electronics, automobiles, laptops, computers, electrical appliances, sweets and salty confectioneries, fruits. And consumers are expected to buy goods in bulk, on which people will spend a lot.

CAT has released another survey which predicts 3.5 lakh weddings across the country in the upcoming wedding season, which is expected to generate a turnover of Rs 4.25 lakh crore. So if we combine the festive season and the wedding season, we can see a business of over Rs 7 lakh crore in the next two months.
