The upcoming month of November is going to be a highly debated political one. Assembly elections in five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram are being seen as the semi-finals of the Lok Sabha elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Central Election Committee has held a marathon meeting in New Delhi on Friday to decide the names of the candidates in these elections.

Almost all the senior leaders of the party have participated in the ongoing BJP Central Election Committee meeting in Delhi. In the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda and other CEC members discussed finalizing the names of the candidates. According to the report, the meeting of the Election Committee regarding the distribution of tickets in Madhya Pradesh has ended. After that, the names of the candidates from Rajasthan will be discussed.

BJP has not announced a single name for Telangana elections yet. The party had announced the names of 41 candidates for Rajasthan. Also, the party has so far released the names of 136 candidates for Madhya Pradesh. The party has announced most of its candidates for the Chhattisgarh and Mizoram assembly elections. There are speculations that some Union Ministers including Gajinder Singh Shekhawat may be fielded in the Rajasthan assembly elections.
Date of election and results
According to the announcement of the Election Commission, voting for assembly elections will be held on November 7 in Mizoram, November 7 and 17 in Chhattisgarh, November 17 in Madhya Pradesh, November 25 in Rajasthan and November 30 in Telangana. The assembly election results of all these 5 states will be announced simultaneously on December 3.
