The market closed with strong gains, with the Sensex closing at 330 and the Nifty closing at 94 points, led by buying in banking and Reliance shares.

Stock market close on 30 October 2023: The first trading session of the week has been very good for the Indian stock market. The market was buoyed by buying in banking and energy stocks. The index of mid-cap and small-cap stocks was trading lower during the day. But buying in these stocks also returned earlier after the market closed. At the end of today’s trade, the BSE Sensex jumped 330 points to close at 64,112 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty jumped 194 points to close at 19,140 points.

State of the sector

Today’s trading saw buying and selling in Banking, IT, Pharma, PSU Bank Index, Metals, Real Estate, Energy, Infra, Commodity, Healthcare, Oil & Gas stocks. While shares of consumer durables, media, FMCG and auto sectors closed lower. Mid-cap and small-cap stocks also saw buyers in today’s trade. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 closed with gains and 11 with losses. While, out of 50 Nifty stocks, 27 closed higher and 23 closed lower.
