Patna: The ground has been prepared to implement 75% reservation in Bihar. Nitish Kumar’s cabinet today approved the proposal to increase reservation. The Nitish government has decided to bring a bill to increase reservation in the Bihar Assembly on November 9. However, such preparations were already in place, so the Nitish Cabinet approved the Bihar Reservation Bill 2023 as soon as the Caste Census report was tabled in the Assembly.

However, according to the order of the Supreme Court, the reservation limit cannot be increased beyond 50%. In such a case, after the bill is passed by both houses, the state government can send the proposal to the central government to increase the reservation.
