Reliance Retail Opens Swadesh Store: Reliance Industries has opened the first ‘Swadesh’ store to support artisans and craftsmen in the country. Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, has inaugurated the store in Hyderabad, Telangana. Through this store, Reliance is trying to provide a strong platform to take the country’s ancient craftsmanship to the global stage. This indigenous store of Reliance will sell products of traditional artisans.

Inaugurating the ‘Swadeshi’ store, Nita Ambani said that through the Swadeshi store, Reliance is trying to take a humble step to preserve and promote Indian arts and crafts. Through this the ‘Make in India’ program will also be encouraged. This store will provide a platform to lakhs of artisans in the country and provide them with better earning opportunities. Craftsmanship is the pride of India and through this initiative we are trying to give it more recognition globally. Along with this, she said that to give recognition to Indian handicrafts, she will expand the store to America and Europe as well.

A ‘Swadeshi’ store built in 20 thousand sq.ft

The Swadeshi store in Hyderabad is spread over a total area of ​​20 thousand square feet. The aim of opening this store is to give Indian art global recognition. At the same time, it should prove to be an excellent source of income for the artisans. Along with handicrafts, the store also has food and clothing items.
Options will be available. A scanner is also installed on the goods kept in this store. Here users get ‘Scan and Know’ facility. In such a situation, you can get all the information related to the craft by scanning it.

A local zone for artisans has been created at NMACC.

To support artisans and craftsmen, a special Swadeshi Zone has been created at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center NMACC, Mumbai. This zone houses Indian handicrafts that one can buy. The entire amount of goods sold in this zone goes to the artisans. In this case, Reliance Foundation has opened a separate Swadeshi store to make this Swadeshi zone on a large scale. Apart from this, Reliance Foundation is soon going to set up an Artisan Initiative for Skill Enhancement (RAISE) center in the country. There will be a total of 18 centers across India through which more than 600 artisans of the country are planned to be connected.
