Chhath Puja 2023 Date: Chhath, the great festival of folk faith, is celebrated with great pomp across the country. People have deep faith in Chhath festival. According to religious beliefs, one who fasts Chhath with a sincere heart and devotion to the rules, is blessed with a healthy and bright child. Actually, Chhath fast is mainly observed for long life of children, family happiness and prosperity, good health and achieving desired results.

In Bihar, Nepal, Jharkhand, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Chhath Puja is seen in its special glory. Let us tell you that this festival of Chhath Puja is celebrated for four days. The fast is broken by bathing on the first day, Kharna on the second day, sunset on the third day and arghya on the rising sun on the next day.

Significance of Chhath Puja

Every year Chhath festival is celebrated on Shashti Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartika. In this festival, women fast for 36 hours without water. This fast is observed for long life of children and prosperity of the family. Chhath fast is observed by men as well as women. On Chhath, Surya Dev and Chhath Maya are worshiped with ritual, principle and devotion. It is believed that the more dedication and purity you observe during this fast, the more the holiday Maya will be pleased with you.
