IT Hardware PLI Scheme: New jobs may soon emerge in the IT hardware sector. 27 companies like IT giants, HP, Lenovo, Foxconn etc have got approval for the government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. Informing about the issue, Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vishnu said that a total of 27 companies have been approved through the PLIIT hardware scheme.

23 companies are starting production.

According to a report published in Business Today, Ashwini Vishnu also said that after receiving approval under the PLI scheme, about 95 percent of the companies are going to start production from day one. In such a case, 23 companies will do this work as soon as possible. The remaining four companies will start production under the scheme in the next 90 days.

More than 50,000 new jobs will be created.

IT Minister Ashwini Vishnu also hoped that these 27 companies would invest Rs 3,000 crore in IT hardware through the IT Hardware Scheme. This investment will provide direct employment to a total of 50,000 people. 1.50 lakh people are expected to be indirectly employed. Companies that have been approved under the IT Hardware Scheme include Dell, Foxconn, Lenovo, Flextronics, Paget, Sojo, VVDN, Sarma, Bhagwati, Paget, Sojo, Newlink.

It is worth noting that the government has launched Production Linked Incentive Scheme 2.0 to encourage manufacturing of IT hardware in the country. Through this, the government will spend Rs 17,000 crore to encourage manufacturing of IT hardware in the country and thereby create new jobs in the sector.
