Two members of CPI (Maoist) arrested
West Bengal STF has arrested Manto Malik, an active member of banned terrorist organization CPI (Maoist) and his close associate Prateek Bhowmick from Murshidabad district. During the search by the STF, some documents related to Maoist activities and a 7.65 mm pistol loaded with 6 rounds of cartridges were recovered from accused Prateek Bhowmick and besides Rs 40,000 in cash. A motorcycle has also been seized from their possession.
The accused Mantu Malik and Prateek Bhowmick were later produced before the Chief Justice after which they have been sent to police custody till November 30, the West Bengal STF said.
