In the final match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Australia won the title for the sixth time after defeating India by 6 wickets. In the title match, Kangaroo team captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first. After that, based on the excellent performance of the bowlers, they restricted the Indian innings to 240 runs. Chasing the target, Australia lost 3 wickets in the first 10 overs but Travis Head’s sensible century played a major role in helping the team reach the target. While all the players looked very disappointed on the defeat of the Indian team, the head coach Rahul Dravid told the real reason for the defeat while talking to the media.

We scored 30 to 40 runs short

The Indian team had a very good start in this match and took the score to 80 runs in the first 10 overs but after that the Australian bowlers completely braked the pace of scoring runs and the pressure was completely on the Indian batsmen. but came See Team India managed to hit only 2 fours from 11th over to 40th over in the match. Coach Rahul Dravid said of the defeat after the match that the pitch was very slow in the beginning but I think he still played very well. A score of 280 to 290 would have been much better on this pitch, 240 was not safe here. If we had scored 30 to 40 more runs, we could have put more pressure on the Australian team. In the second innings, the ball was coming to the bat much better. So I think this pitch was much better.

Rohit is a great leader.

Rahul Dravid also gave a statement regarding Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in which he said that he is a great leader. He put a lot of time and energy into building this team. He was always available for any kind of discussion. He gave us rhythm in every match and played positive cricket. He himself also batted brilliantly. I admire him as a person and leader. Rohit led the team brilliantly.
