New Delhi : Delhi Government Minister Atishi Marlina has requested the Governor to intervene in Delhi’s dire water crisis. They say that funds have not been released to the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) even after written instructions. He also alleged that funds were not released by the Finance Department on the instructions of Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar.
Atashi says that earlier officers regularly followed the instructions of ministers. However, after the GNCTD Amendment Act, officers only follow the instructions of Hon’ble LG as they control ‘Services’ and ‘Vigilance’. Therefore His Excellency’s intervention is requested to avert the public health crisis in Delhi.
The Minister said that the Finance Department is with them, but funds have not been released to the Delhi Jal Board despite written instructions. He also alleged that funds were not released by the Finance Department on the instructions of Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar.
