Azam Khan’s fine waived: The Pakistan Cricket Board took a big action against their own country on 27 November 2023. The PCB had accused a player of violating the International Cricket Council (ICC) dress and equipment rules. But within 24 hours Pakistan Cricket Board has changed its decision.

PCB withdrew its decision.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fully waived 50% of the match fee fine imposed on wicketkeeper batsman Azam Khan for using the Palestinian flag on his bat during the national T20 Championship. Azam Khan refused to remove the Palestinian flag sticker from his bat. Azam repeatedly failed to follow the umpire’s instructions during the match. This is a violation of Article 2.4 of the PCB’s Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. After which PCB took action against him.

PCB issued this statement.

PCB did not give any reason for waiving the penalty completely. The board also did not provide any information on whether Azam has agreed to remove the sticker from his bat in the upcoming matches. PCB said in a press release that 50% of the fine imposed on Azam Khan by the match officials has been reviewed and waived by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The Karachi Whites wicketkeeper-batsman was found guilty of a level one offense during the National Bank T20 Cup 2023-24 match against Lahore Blues at the Karachi Stadium. Due to which a fine of 50% of the match fee was imposed.

Mohammad Rizwan also did this.

According to ICC rules, players and team officials are not allowed to display any type of display or personal message on their equipment or apparel without permission. This requires prior approval from the PCB Cricket Operations Department. Let us tell you that Azam played his last match for Pakistan in 2023. During the recently held World Cup in India, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan wrote on X in support of the Palestinians living in Gaza. However, the ICC did not penalize him as it was his personal opinion.
