The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has also included Mizoram in the new round of bids invited for supply of retail CNG and piped cooking gas. PNGRB said in a notice that in continuation of bids called on October 13 for development of city gas distribution network in seven geographical areas, electronic bids have also been invited for Mizoram. The last date for bidding for the gas distribution license is February 23.

12th City Gas Distribution Bid

PNGRB has conducted retail sales of CNG in the 12th City Gas Distribution (CGD) bidding round in seven geographical areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim and Jammu and Union Territories. and has invited applications for piped delivery of gas to households and industries. Kashmir and Ladakh were offered. At that time Mizoram was also earmarked for inclusion in this round, but it could not happen due to the announcement of assembly elections there.
