In global markets, gold strengthened to $2,077 per ounce, while silver fell to $25.40 per ounce. The price of spot gold in Comex (commodity market) stood at $2,077 per ounce, which is six dollars higher than the previous closing price. Gold on the COMEX hit new highs on Monday due to rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia, Gandhi said.

Silver price in futures trading

Silver fell by Rs 446 to Rs 76,147 per kg in futures trade on Monday as traders trimmed their positions amid weak spot demand. Silver for December delivery on the Multi Commodity Exchange fell by Rs 446, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 76,147 per kg. 174 lots were traded in it. Globally, silver prices in New York fell 1.25 percent to $25.54 an ounce.

Gold price in futures trading

Gold prices fell by Rs 32 to Rs 63,080 per kg in futures trade on Monday as traders trimmed their positions amid weak spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in December fell marginally by Rs 32, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 63,080 per kg. 96 lots were traded in it. Market analysts say the drop in gold futures is due to traders offloading deals. Globally, gold prices in New York fell 0.22 percent to $2,085 an ounce.
