Rajasthan: A state-wide bandh has been announced today i.e. Wednesday against the killing of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Gogamedi was shot dead by three miscreants at his house in Jaipur on Tuesday. The miscreants had entered his house on the pretext of talking. Tension has increased in the state after the incident. Reports of protests have been received from many places including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Alwar. Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said that no accused has been arrested or detained so far. The two shooters involved in the killing have been identified. One Rohit Rathore of Josri, Makrana, Rajasthan and the other Nitan Fauji of Mahendragarh, Haryana. Jaipur police are conducting continuous raids to arrest both.

Regarding the announcement of statewide bandh, Jaipur Police has appealed to the people to maintain peace and social harmony in the city. Jaipur Police said not to pay attention to any kind of rumors or spread any kind of fake news. Action is being ensured by Jaipur Police. With this, the law and order situation in the state may worsen, so a letter has been issued to the police officers. Police officers have been asked to maintain vigilance in their respective areas and ensure effective blockade at state/district borders and important locations. The Reserve Police Force has been asked to be ready with anti-riot equipment. Along with this, instructions have been given to monitor social media and immediately remove objectionable and misleading posts. Apart from this, it has been asked to ensure the restoration of law and order by taking effective legal action against anti-social elements.
Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s Sampath Nehra had earlier threatened.
Karni Sena has demanded an encounter with the killers. Rohit Godara, associated with the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has claimed responsibility for the murder on social media. The entire incident of attack on Gogamedi was recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the house. According to the police, the badly injured Gogamedi was taken to a hospital in Mansarovar where he died. A large number of Gogamedi’s supporters are sitting on a dharna outside the hospital demanding immediate arrest of the accused. After Gogamedi’s murder, supporters staged protests in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Alwar, Churu, Udaipur and demanded the arrest of the culprits. After the incident, Governor Kulraj Mishra directed the police to take strict and effective action against the criminals. Gogamdi had earlier received death threats from Sampath Nehra of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A memorandum was given to Jaipur Police regarding this matter.
