Income Tax Department Raids: The Income Tax Department on Wednesday launched a major drive against Bodh Distilleries Pvt Ltd and conducted raids at several of its locations. The IT department has taken this action at the company’s offices in Odisha and Jharkhand. The Income Tax Department has taken this action on suspicion of tax evasion. In this raid, the department found so many notes that the counting machine also stopped. The IT department has recovered more than Rs 50 crore in this raid. CISF personnel are also involved in this raid to assist the Income Tax Department.

According to sources in the Income Tax Department, the Income Tax Department has raided several locations of Buddh Distilleries Private Limited in Jharkhand and Odisha. Balangir and Sambalpur offices in Odisha are on its radar. The IT department is also investigating in Ranchi and Lohardaga in Jharkhand. A count completed on Wednesday revealed a cash recovery of Rs 50 crore. The special thing is that so much cash was found at the company’s premises that the note counting machine was also broken.

The Income Tax Department has taken this action against Bodh Distilleries Private Limited on suspicion of tax evasion. In such a case, even after the recovery of such a large amount from the office, it was not clear whether tax evasion actually took place or not.
