Beginnings: There have been reports of attacks on common people by stray animals in various areas of Uttar Pradesh. The latest case is in Badawan district of the state, where a farmer drowned in a pond while trying to escape from a bull. It is being told that the farmer was going to the field to protect his crops with stray animals. A farmer named Shiv Dayal, who jumped into a pond to escape from an attacking bull, drowned in Dataganj area of Badayan district, an official said on Thursday.
‘Death by drowning in deep and cold water’
Dataganj SDM Dharminder Singh said a bull attacked 55-year-old farmer Shiv Dayal in Salimpur village on Wednesday night, who was going to his fields to protect his crops from stray animals. To escape this, the farmer jumped into a nearby pond but drowned in the deep and cold water. They said that when Shiv Dayal did not reach home this morning, he was searched. Meanwhile, his body was found in the pond. The police have sent the body for post-mortem.

The SDM said that a revenue team has also been sent to the spot to investigate the matter. Financial assistance will be provided to the family of the deceased farmer based on the investigation report.
