Weather forecast for December 13: Cold weather has intensified across North India including Delhi-NCR. According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog is likely to fall in different parts of the next three states of Haryana, Punjab, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Many parts of Delhi, Noida, UP and Bihar are still covered with fog on Wednesday morning. Most parts of Rajasthan, North UP, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 5-10 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours, the Meteorological Department said. The weather here will remain like this during the next 24 hours as well.

Snowfall in Uttarakhand.

At the same time, it is snowing in the hilly states of the country. Oli, Chamoli, Uttarakhand received snowfall today. Apart from this, it is snowing in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Due to which the cold has increased in the plains.

Rain and hail alert in Arunachal Tamil Nadu

The Meteorological Department has forecast hailstorm in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh today. Apart from this, Tamil Nadu may experience heavy rain till December 16. Apart from this, there may be rain in Lakshadweep itself.

Climate of Delhi

It was a cold morning in NCR including Delhi and Noida. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi is likely to fluctuate in the next five to seven days. The IMD said that the sky will remain partly cloudy in Delhi on Wednesday and the minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be around seven degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively. Earlier on Tuesday too, the minimum temperature in Delhi remained below seven degrees Celsius. According to officials, the mercury was recorded at 6.8 degrees Celsius in the morning, which is two degrees less than normal.

The minimum temperature in Kashmir is still below zero.

Kashmir Valley has seen a slight increase in temperature during the last 24 hours but the minimum temperature is still below zero. The Meteorological Department said that the state will remain generally cloudy till December 16 but the weather will remain mainly dry. The valley recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.5 degree Celsius on Tuesday. Pahalgam in Anantnag district recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.5 degrees Celsius, while popular tourist destination Gulmarg in Baramulla district recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.5 degrees Celsius. Qazigund recorded minus 2.6 degree Celsius, Kokarnag minus 2.3 degree Celsius and Kupwara minus 2.4 degree Celsius.

Extreme cold in Odisha too

The mercury dipped below 10 degrees Celsius in several tribal-majority districts of Odisha on Tuesday, adding to the chill in the state. The lowest temperature was recorded at G Udaygiri in Kandhamal district of the state. The temperature was recorded at 7.2 degrees Celsius in Udayari, 9.4 degrees Celsius in Keonjhar and Keri in Sundargarh district, 9.5 degrees Celsius in Durengbadi in Kandhamal district and 10 degrees Celsius in Phulbani. The IMD has predicted a drop of two to four degrees Celsius in the night temperature at many places in the state till December 14. Bhubaneswar-based Meteorological Center director HR Biswas said the cold wave is expected to persist in most parts of Odisha till January 2.
