According to a report by the Economic Times, apart from SpiceJet, two other companies have shown interest in buying GoFirst. These include Africa’s Safari Investments and Sharjah’s aviation company Sky One. All three companies have expressed interest in buying GoFirst even though the deadline for submitting proposals has passed and creditors are considering winding up the company.

Requests sent to resolution professional.

According to the report, the three companies showing interest in buying GoFirst have requested to extend the deadline for submission of proposals. For this, it has sent a request over the past 10 days to resolution professional Shailendra Ajmera, who is handling GoFirst’s corporate insolvency resolution process. Now the committee of creditors is going to hold a meeting after considering these requests, in which it will be considered whether the deadline can be extended or not.

No bids received as of November 22.

The deadline for GoFirst to file under the bankruptcy process was November 22. This means potential buyers were given until November 22 to submit their offers. As of November 22, no one has shown interest in buying GoFirst. After the deadline, the creditors were left with two options – either to extend the deadline or to proceed with the liquidation route.

The deadline is expected to increase.

Naveen Jindal of Jindal Steel & Power submitted an expression of interest for GoFirst, but did not make a final offer. It had neither submitted a final bid nor sought additional time from the lenders. Now that three companies are showing interest in buying GoFirst, the lenders are expected to extend the deadline.
