Start with strong momentum, Sensex surges 300 points at open, almost all major stocks green

Share market opening on December 27: The country’s stock market had a great start to business on the third day of the last week of the year. As the market opened on Wednesday, the Sensex jumped nearly 300 points. Nifty also started trading on a strong note. Almost all major stocks were listed in the green zone when the market opened.

This was the situation in the initial session

Domestic markets were already showing signs of a good start. In the morning, Nifty futures in Gift City had crossed 21,540 points with an increase of around 45 points. This was a clear indication that the market could start strong today. A similar trend was observed in the pre-opening session as well. In the pre-opening session, the BSE Sensex was up nearly 150 points and touched close to 71,500 points. The Nifty 50 index gained over 56 points. At 9.20 am, the Sensex was trading close to 71,615 points, up over 275 points. The Nifty 50 index was over 75 points stronger at around 21,520 points.

Wall Street Towards New Peak

The local market is getting support on the global front as well. The bullish trend continued in the US market on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average managed to gain 0.43% on Wall Street on Tuesday. The S&P 500 rose 0.42 percent and touched its highest level since January 2022 during trading. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.54 percent. All three major Wall Street indexes are on track to register gains on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Strength in Asian markets.

Asian markets were also firm in early trade on Wednesday as US markets continued to rally on Tuesday. Japan’s Nikkei is up 1 percent in early trade, while the Topix index is trading up 0.68 percent. South Korea’s Kospi is up 0.30 percent. The Kos Dak gained 1.33 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng futures were signaling a good start in trading.

Such was the market on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday too, the bullish trend continued in the local market. After a three-day holiday, open market business ended briskly. After the session ended, the BSE Sensex gained 229.84 points (0.32 percent) to close at 71,336.80 points. While Nifty was at 21,441.35 points with an increase of 91.95 points (0.43 percent).

Most major stock gains

Almost all major stocks saw gains in early trade. 26 out of 30 Sensex stocks remained strong. The maximum increase of about 2.25% was observed in ultratech cement. Shares like Tata Motors, Bajaj Finance were up more than 1 percent. On the other hand, shares of NTPC, Asian Paints, HDFC Bank and Sun Pharma were marginal losers.
