Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the state-level meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana on Thursday. During the meeting, Shah will discuss the strategy for next year’s Lok Sabha polls with leaders and workers of the Telangana unit of the BJP. This is Shah’s first visit to the state after the recently concluded assembly elections, in which the BJP got “disappointing” results. BJP sources said, “Amit Shah will visit the Shri Bhagilakshmi temple (near the historic Charminar). After that he will address a meeting of party leaders across the state.”

The party’s performance in the assembly elections will be discussed in the meeting. Also, a strategy will be prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP won four of the 17 seats in Telangana in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but its hopes have been dented by the landslide victory of the Congress in the recent assembly elections.
