Bajaj has made a big bet to compete with Ola, going to launch a long-range e-scooter

The leading auto company Bajaj is going to launch the premium avatar of its e-scooter Chetak on January 5. Its teaser has already been released on social media by the company. It is believed that the company is trying to compete with e-scooters like Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, TVS iQube, Simple One Energy.

What will be special about Bajaj Chetak?

The new premium avatar of the Bajaj Chetak will come with a 7-inch digital touchscreen. It will also provide navigation and features like calls, SMS and music, tire pressure monitoring etc. The scooter is expected to come with 21 liters of underseat storage.

According to the information given in the media reports, in this new avatar of Bajaj Chetak, the company has also paid a lot of attention to the performance of the scooter. Its top speed will be 73 kmph which was 63 kmph in the old model. Its top variant will come with a 3.2 kWh battery pack. It will have a range of 126 km. This scooter will be charged from 0 to 100 percent in four hours.

According to the teaser, the 2024 Bajaj Chetak model will look almost the same as before. However, some minor changes have been made by the company. It has matte black with chrome bezels. The scooter has an LED headlamp.

How much can it cost?

However, the company is expected to officially announce the prices of this scooter on January 5. Several reports have said that the company may price it competitively to compete with the existing scooters in the market and it is expected to be priced between Rs 1.30 lakh and Rs 1.40 lakh.
