Bribery case: CBI recovers Rs 5.86 lakh cash from PESO officer’s Nagpur residence

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the residence of a Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) official in Nagpur, Maharashtra in connection with an alleged bribery case and recovered unaccounted cash worth Rs 5.86 lakh. of An officer gave this information on Saturday. As part of the ongoing investigation, CBI officials raided the rented residence of PESO’s Chief Explosives Controller P Kumar in Hazari Pahar area on Friday and recovered unaccounted cash and other items, he said. Exported documents. Kumar’s three properties have been identified at Panwal in Navi Mumbai, Ghaziabad and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, the officer said. During the raid, the CBI team recovered cash amounting to Rs 5.86 lakh, after which Kumar was interrogated, he said. PESO is the nodal government agency that regulates the safety of hazardous substances such as explosives, compressed gases and petroleum. According to the FIR, Deshpande, acting as a middleman, conspired to get work for Kachwaha’s company by bribing PESO officials.

Accordingly, the company wanted to utilize up to 75% of its electronic detonator manufacturing capacity by March 2024 and the accused allegedly helped amend the company’s existing license to facilitate this. The CBI nabbed Deshpande and Kuchwaha on Wednesday evening at a typing shop near the PESO office in Seminary Hills here, allegedly accepting cash of Rs 10 lakh. The agency then allegedly recovered Rs 1.25 crore from Deshpande’s residence and Rs 90 lakh from the office of an accused PESO officer.
