Retail sales of vehicles have increased over the past year. Automobile dealers’ association FADA has said in its report released on Monday that the retail sales of vehicles in the year 2023 has increased by 11 percent on annual basis (calendar year). Total retail sales during this period were recorded at 2,38,67,990 units. Last year i.e. in the year 2022 the same figure was recorded as 2,14,92,324 units. According to PTI News, the sales of passenger vehicles in the year 2023 was 38,60,268 units. In the year 2022, the same sales were 34,89,953 units.

Three-wheeler retail sales grew by 58%.

According to the news, the retail sales of two-wheelers increased by nine percent last year to 1,70,61,112 units from 1,55,88,352 units in 2022. If we look at the three-wheeler retail sales, it grew by 58% last year to 10,80,653 units from 6,81,812 units in 2022. Similarly, retail sales of commercial vehicles increased by eight percent to 9,94,330 units in 2022 from 9,18,284 units.

The tractor also used power.

According to the report, retail sales of tractors increased to 8,71,627 units, which is seven percent higher than the figure of 8,13,923 units in 2022. Total retail sales of vehicles in the domestic market increased by 21% to 19,90,915 units in December 2023. In December 2022, it was 16,43,514 units. Retail sales of passenger vehicles increased to 2,93,005 units in December 2023, up three percent from the figure of 2,85,429 units in December 2022.

Data was collected from 1,355 RTO offices.

In December 2023, two-wheeler sales increased by 28% to 14,49,693 units. In the same period a year ago, 11,36,465 two-wheelers were sold. FADA said it has collected vehicle sales data from 1,355 out of 1,442 Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across the country.
