Women Empowerment: These government schemes are giving financial freedom to women, know what benefits they get.

Schemes for Women: To provide dignity and economic freedom to women, the central government comes up with various schemes from time to time. Many schemes like Mudra to Mahila Samradhi Yojana are working in them. These schemes are designed keeping women in mind. All these schemes are contributing well to the financial independence of women. With the help of these schemes, the number of women entrepreneurs in the country has increased rapidly. It is expected that the number of women entrepreneurs may increase by 90% in the coming 5 years. All these schemes of the Government of India are addressing all the challenges faced by women. Let’s take a look at these schemes.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.

The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana run by the Narendra Modi government aims to increase the number of women entrepreneurs and provide them with easy financial support. It provides loans to women for micro and small scale industries. In this, women are given loans of up to 10 lakh rupees without any mortgage. The government also charges low interest on this loan. The repayment period of this loan is minimum 3 years and maximum 5 years.

Stand Up India Scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Stand Up India scheme in April 2016. Under this scheme, entrepreneurship among SC and ST women is promoted through banks (Scheduled Commercial Banks). It offers loans ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore. To avail this benefit, the share of women in the company must be at least 51%.

Women’s Choir Scheme

Under the Mahila Koir Yojana, skill development is promoted among women. It runs a two-month training program for women involved in the coconut industry. Meanwhile, women also get monthly allowance. Apart from this, they also get up to 75% loan for coconut processing machines. The government has also made it mandatory to buy products made by women.

Economic Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs

The Ministry of Skill Development has launched this scheme for women. It works on skill development of women in states like Assam, Rajasthan and Telangana.

Mahila Samrudhi Yojana

Under this scheme, women get a loan of up to Rs 1.40 lakh. Apart from this, interest rebate is also available. Women from backward classes or those whose annual income is less than 3 lakh rupees are included in this scheme.

Trading scheme

Under the TRADE (Trade-related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development) scheme, work is done to empower women economically. In this 30% of the total cost of the project is borne by the Government of India. Also 70% loan is available.
