He said that the man had written a ‘code’ in the suicide note on his mobile phone. After several days of hard work, the investigators found that it was the number of a tree in the Kharghar Hills. The code helped the police find the girl’s body.

‘The girl had gone to college’

An official said that the girl was allegedly strangled to death by the accused in the Kharghar hills. The accused was angry for breaking up with the girl. The girl had left Sion for her college on December 12, but never returned, following which a missing case was registered at Kalamboli police station. During the investigation, the police received information that Vaibhav Biringle of Kalamboli had committed suicide by jumping in front of a local train at Joynagar railway station on December 12, following which a case was registered, an official said.

Meanwhile, Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe constituted a special task force to investigate the matter. Police found a suicide note on Bringley’s mobile phone, which said he had killed the girl and was going to commit suicide, the officer said. Code words like ‘L01-501’ were used in the suicide note, the officer said. The code was the number of the tree marked by the forest department where Bringley had dumped his girlfriend’s body. Police said in a press release that investigation revealed that the girl and Bringley were present in the Kharghar Hills area on December 12.

Police took the help of volunteers from Lonavala, Fire Brigade, City and Industrial Development Corporation and Forest Department to search for the girl’s body. It was reported that the body of the girl was recovered from the bushes. The body of the girl was identified on the basis of her clothes, wrist watch and identity card. The police say that the investigation of the case is still going on.
