Formed part of the general budget from 2017

Before the Modi government, a separate budget was presented for railways. This tradition changed from the year 2017. The railway budget was a part of the general budget presented by then finance minister Arun Jaitley that year. Earlier, the railway budget was presented separately by the railway minister. For the last 7 years now, the railway budget is coming as part of the general budget.
