The Israeli-made anti-drone system is likely to soon protect the Ayodhya Ram temple as well as some other important institutions in Uttar Pradesh. The UP Police has completed the procurement process and it is hoped that the modern SHIELD systems will soon become part of the latest technologies already in use by the country’s largest police force.

India’s staunchest friend Israel has come forward to protect Ram Lalla. Israel is going to install its own anti-drone system around the Ram temple. Let us tell you that thousands and millions of people are coming from all over the country and the world to see Ram Lalla. This will continue continuously. In such a situation, the security of Ayodhya becomes very important. In view of the security of Ayodhya, a major agreement has been signed between the Uttar Pradesh Police and Israel. Recently, several extremists have been arrested near the Ram temple. In such a situation, even birds cannot be killed near the Ram temple, so the anti-drone system is being deployed. This is the first time that the Uttar Pradesh Police has purchased anti-drone technology.

Recently during the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha program and on other occasions, the police used anti-drone systems borrowed from the National Security Guard (NSG), Special Protection Group (SPG) or other security forces. These anti-drone systems developed in Israel were shortlisted after detailed trials. This system will not only detect any drone within a radius of 3-5 km but also has the capability to disable any enemy drone in its radar. Based on risk assessment, these systems will allow the police to make appropriate decisions in different situations. One of which is to execute a soft hit, a laser-based destruction method that can be used against enemy drones.

The technology allows police to hack enemy drones and ensure a safe, yet guided landing, or destroy the enemy drone itself, said an official with knowledge of the technology. These systems will also deploy snipers, trained in hard-killing, to shoot down drones that are not suitable for use with lasers or other technology. About 10 of these anti-drone systems are being purchased by the UP Police. These will be installed at sensitive institutions in cities like Lucknow, Varanasi and Mathura across the state and on a need basis. This process has been completed and we hope to hand over the goods soon.
