A shot was fired in the Sarnath Express at Raipur station.

Raipur: An RPSF jawan was killed in firing at Chhattisgarh’s Raipur railway station. Another passenger traveling in the train was also injured in the firing. It is being told that the soldier was carrying a rifle and this led to the firing. After the firing, the bullet hit the mark of the jawan and also hit the passenger sitting on the berth above him. The soldier died but the passenger was injured, who has been admitted to Ramakrishna Hospital.

Four RPSF jawans were traveling in the train.

The dead soldier has been identified as Dinesh Chand, who hailed from Rajasthan.

According to the information, Sarnath Express from Chapra to Durg reached Aslapur on Saturday morning at its scheduled time. After that the train left Islapur station for Raipur. Four RPSF jawans along with RPF Sub-Inspector SDD Ghosh were on duty in the train.

The firing in the train caused a stampede.

As the train reached platform number one of Raipur station on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, while getting off the train, a gunshot was heard from sleeper coach number two. Hearing the sound of firing, the passengers got scared. When fellow soldiers reached the spot, they found RPSF constable Dinesh Chand lying on the floor of the train.

The bullet grazed the body of the constable and hit the passenger.

Preliminary investigations are saying that the bullet was fired from the gun of RPSF constable Dinesh Chand. Due to which the bullet hit Constable Dinesh in the chest. While one passenger was also injured in this incident. Both were immediately admitted to a private hospital. Where the soldier died during the treatment. After this incident there was chaos at the station. However, the police are investigating how the constable’s gun went off. While the RPF officials are calling it an accidental fire.
