Gurugram: FIR registered for hurting religious sentiments, objectionable words written on wall

An FIR has been registered against unidentified local people for hurting religious sentiments on the complaint of a caretaker of a mosque in Tawadu of Nohan district. Police gave this information on Friday.

The police officer said that the FIR has been lodged at Tawadu City Police Station. Police said that the complaint was lodged by Muhammad Farooq, a resident of Nizampur village and who is responsible for the maintenance of Juma Masjid, Kacha Bazaar, Tawadu.

Construction work is going on in this mosque. Farooq has complained that “objectionable words were written on the wall of the religious place by some miscreants with the intention of hurting religious sentiments for the past few days”. Many times, I had erased the words ‘Jaishree Ram’ on my surface. But by repeatedly writing objectionable words, religious sentiments are being hurt.

Police said on Friday that based on the complaint, the Tawadu city police station was booked under Sections 295 (intentional insult with intent to incite breach of peace), 295-A (with intent to incite religious sentiments of any section). An FIR was registered under (willful and malicious act). An FIR has been registered under the Indian Penal Code.
