People took to the streets on allegations of rigging in Pakistan’s elections.

People are on the streets because of allegations of rigging in Pakistan’s elections. Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is protesting across the country today. Due to which the police had to be deployed at different places. The PTI has alleged rigging of polling booths in various Lok Sabha constituencies across the country. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has ordered re-polling. This has caused confusion among the political parties. However, this order of the Election Commission is only for those seats where serious allegations have been made like major rigging, snatching of ballot papers and depriving the voters of voting. There will be no re-election on other seats.

The Election Commission of Pakistan had received complaints of confiscation of voting materials from polling booths in many areas. After which the Election Commission has issued this instruction. According to a report by Pakistan’s Geo TV, the ECP has ordered re-polling at all polling stations across the country amid complaints of looting and damage to voting materials. Earlier, amid hard work and bombardment, the ECP had managed to hold elections on February 8. However, despite the big claims, fair voting could not take place at various polling centers. In such a situation the ECP had to give this order.

Election results have not been announced yet.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has not announced the correct results of the elections even on the fourth day after the completion of voting. According to the information received so far, Imran Khan’s PTI is getting 100 seats, Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N 73 seats and Bilawal’s party 52 seats. But there are some seats where the results could not be released even on the fourth day amid allegations of rigging. Only these seats are being repolled. The Election Commission has fixed February 15 as the date for this.
