As a result, there is a shortage of trained pilots. When asked about this, the airline said that there is no shortage of pilots. Akasa Air Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vinay Dubey said in the statement, “I want to make it clear that we have no shortage of pilots. Akasa Air has a strong staff of over 600 pilots, which is our current fleet. Akasa Air is scheduled to begin operations in August 2022. The company is expanding its operations.

SpiceJet laid off 1400 employees.

On the other hand, SpiceJet has laid off 1400 employees. This is about 15 percent of the company’s total workforce. The company has taken this step to attract investors amid the financial crisis. The airline has around 9,000 employees, operating 30 aircraft. According to a report by Economic Times, this cut has been made by the company as per the operational requirements. The airline is currently paying a salary of Rs 60 crore per month. SpiceJet had been delaying payment of salaries for the past several months.
