Rising gold futures prices

Gold prices rose by Rs 152 to Rs 62,230 per 10 grams in futures trade on Tuesday. The April delivery contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange rose by Rs 152, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 62,230 per 10 grams. 13,544 lots were traded in it. Market analysts said buying of fresh deals by traders led to a rise in gold futures prices. Globally, gold rose 0.31 percent to $2,039.20 an ounce in New York.

A rise in silver futures prices

In futures trade, silver rose by Rs 320 to Rs 71,329 per kg on Tuesday. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the silver contract for delivery in March rose by Rs 320, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 71,329 per kg. 26,461 lots were traded in it. Globally, silver rose 0.50 percent to $22.88 an ounce in New York.
