The Supreme Court will deliver a verdict on electoral bonds.

New Delhi: Today is a big day for electoral bonds, the way the central government donates to political parties. The Supreme Court will give a decision regarding its correctness. A five-judge constitution bench of the Supreme Court was hearing the issue of electoral bonds. The court completed the hearing on November 2, 2023 and reserved the decision in this matter. Along with this, the court asked the Central Election Commission to submit the data related to the electoral bonds sold under the scheme by September 30, 2023.

The application was filed on behalf of ADR.

Let me tell you that the Supreme Court was hearing about this method of donating to political parties. A petition filed by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) in the court said that this method is used by corporates. He has given to the parties. These people can influence policy decisions through it. ADR said in the petition that this method is ambiguous and should be stopped.

The Constitution Bench conducted the hearing.

A five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud heard the petition filed by ADR regarding electoral bonds. It includes Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra along with the CJI. The Constitution Bench heard the arguments given by the parties and the opposition from October 31 to November 2. After a three-day hearing, the court reserved its verdict on November 2. Now the judgment of this case will be pronounced today.
