Aizawl: Excise and Narcotics Department of Mizoram has achieved great success against drugs. Indeed, on Sunday, a 49-year-old Myanmar national was arrested for possessing a large quantity of methamphetamine pills and crystal methamphetamine from Azul. The Myanmar national has been arrested by the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department team.

The accused belongs to Myanmar.

In fact, Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department officials with the help of Young Mizo Association (YMA) volunteers raided a house in Bawangkun area of ​​Aizawl on Saturday. According to the statement, they seized 1.3 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 16 kg (1.6 lakh pills) of methamphetamine from the possession of Haringtankhara, a resident of Tahan Panlong, Myanmar.

It was intended to be smuggled out of the state.

The drug smuggled from Myanmar to Mizoram was intended to be transported to other destinations outside the state, the department added in its statement. A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Along with this, the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department is seeing this action as a big success.

Let us tell you that Assam Rifles has seized heroin and other drugs worth Rs 130 crore in Mizoram in the last 45 days. Giving information about this, an official said that during the operations conducted since January in different parts of the state, the personnel of Assam Rifles seized 4 kg of heroin, 3.3 lakh pills of methamphetamine and other contraband. Three people, including a resident of Assam, have been arrested for drug possession, the official said. He said that a case was registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and produced before the Magistrate on Friday.
