Pakistan News: Elections have been held in Pakistan. However, the parties are still manipulating with regard to unity. No one knows when the oath of the Prime Minister will be taken. Meanwhile, there is a lot of criticism regarding election rigging in Pakistan. A retired army officer has filed an application in the Supreme Court of Pakistan in this regard. However, after filing the application, he himself remained absent during the hearing. The Supreme Court has condemned it.

According to reports, the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday severely reprimanded a retired army officer who appealed for the annulment of the elections due to alleged rigging for not appearing in the court during the hearing. Pakistan’s February 8 elections are shrouded in controversy due to several serious allegations of widespread rigging to alter the results.

Who will form the government is not clear even after 10 days of voting.

Even after 10 days of voting, it is not clear which party will form the government at the Centre. Independent candidates backed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party have won the most seats in Parliament. However, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have announced to form the government together. No party got a clear majority in the elections. The post-election alliance between the PML-N and the People’s Party means that the PTI will not be able to form the federal government in the future.

‘Mandate is being undermined with the help of the army’

Imran Khan’s party alleged that the two rival parties are trying to steal the mandate of the people with the help of the powerful establishment (army). According to the ‘Dawn’ newspaper, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa heard the petition of Brigadier (R) Ali Khan, but the petitioner did not appear in the court.

Supreme Court will not be allowed to be misused: Judge said

The bench also included Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Musrat Hilali. The court said whether the application was filed only for publicity? This cannot be allowed. We will not allow the Supreme Court to be misused. The bench also said that the petition was filed on February 12 but it was already reported in the media. The court said that the petitioner’s phone number was found to be switched off when contacted. After which the Supreme Court issued a notice to the former senior Pakistani military officer through the Ministry of Defense and adjourned the hearing till February 21.
