Karwar: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ananth Kumar Hegde has leveled serious allegations against the Congress by calling Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ‘Sidharmullah Khan’. Hegde alleged that Karnataka under the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government is on the verge of bankruptcy and does not even have money to pay employees and fund MLAs. He accused Siddaramaiah of looting the state to get votes. Hitting back at Hegde, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called the BJP ‘anti-Muslim’ and ‘anti-minority’.

‘PM Modi has never compromised with national interest’

Former Union Minister Hegde said, ‘Modi brought more than 370 schemes or programs for the benefit of the people. Be it agriculture, horticulture, industry, housing or sanitation, Modi has brought schemes for the welfare of people in almost all sectors. He said that Modi has not started schemes that bankrupt the government, but he has strengthened it. Hegde said that India has emerged as the fifth largest economy today. Addressing a party program, Hegde said that PM Modi has never compromised with the interest of the country and the guarantees of his government have made the country strong.

‘Karnataka government doesn’t even have money to pay salaries’

“But here our Siddharamullah Khan claims to give bail while the government has no money to pay salaries to civil servants, for development work, to fund MLAs,” Hegde said. He said that more than Rs 11 thousand crores of SC/ST fund is being diverted elsewhere. Reacting to Hegde being called ‘Sidharamullah Khan’, Siddaramaiah said the BJP is ‘anti-minority’. Siddaramaiah said, ‘They (BJP) talk about sab ka saath, sab ka vikas but they oppose Muslims. If not, why would he call me Siddharullah Khan? He is anti-minority. (language)
