Kolkata: BJP leader Vinathi Srinivasan on Saturday hit out at the Mamata government over the Sandishakhli issue. He said that if the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal is transparent, why are women MPs being prevented from meeting the victims in Sandishakhli. BJP Mahila Morcha national president Srinivasan slammed the state government over allegations of sexual exploitation of women in Sandishakhli in North 24 Parganas district and alleged that women are not safe at all under TMC rule.

What did Vinathi Srinivasan say?

He said that women are not safe at all in West Bengal. If the TMC government is so transparent, why are opposition women MLAs being prevented from meeting the victims in Sandishakhli? What are they trying to hide? Responding to allegations that his party remained silent on similar allegations of ‘atrocities’ in BJP-ruled states, Srinivasan said the BJP had never been involved in such heinous crimes. No one was protected. He claimed that whenever such incidents have taken place in any party-ruled state, the BJP has never saved anyone. We have a zero tolerance policy against such crimes. But here the story is different.

Sandishakhli a key issue in upcoming elections: Srinivasan

Srinivasan claimed that the ruling party in West Bengal was not taking action against its own people accused of heinous crimes. He said that the TMC leadership is free to send its team to Uttar Pradesh or Manipur. “But citing various incidents in some other places, they cannot say why they are coming here,” he said.

Srinivasan said that the BJP Mahila Morcha will take these issues to every woman in West Bengal before the Lok Sabha elections. “Sandishkhali will be an important issue in the coming elections,” he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a women’s rally in Barasat in North 24 Parganas district on March 6 and it will be telecast on more than 4,000 BJP channels, Srinivasan said. To be done in Mahila Mandal in West Bengal.

He alleged that the TMC government is giving protection to criminals who are involved in atrocities against women. When Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary was also asked about not allowing him to go to Sandishakhli, he said that the opposition alliance was only working outside the state and not inside. “Here, they are fighting against each other,” he said (input: language).
