According to the news, the low-cost airline has around 1,300 pilots, including 400 pilots from AirAsia India while 400 are on training. According to sources, Air India Express will start flights to Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka during the upcoming summer flight schedule. He said that Air India Express will receive its order for 50 white Boeing 737 Max aircraft by December this year. Of these, it has already added 13-14 aircraft to its fleet. Air India Express is a subsidiary of Air India.

Merger with AirAsia India is expected.

Sources also said that the airline expects to complete the merger with AirAsia India by the second quarter of the next financial year. Air India Express expects that after the completion of the merger, AirAsia India’s entire fleet will be on its air operations license by July-August this year. Currently, AirAsia India has three A320neo aircraft in its fleet on operation permit. Air India Express had announced the launch of flights between Delhi and Ayodhya last December. The flights also started from January 16 this year. Air India operates many international flights.
